Nomad Warrior finished

This character was made to test PBR workflow, the metalness approach. Head is based on L.D Austin's concept art for "Brink", rest of the body was inspired by various concepts and photos.
Base modeling was done in Maya, sculpting in Zbrush and Mudbox at the start of the head, clothes were simulated with Marvelous designer and textures done with Quixel Suite. Rendered in Marmoset.

Nomad warrior

I changed some stuff. Instead of arabesque on belt i did something i saw in Prince of Persia movie on character played by Alfred Molina. Some detail was added to leather parts, so they look more like leather and less like cardboard.

2 more renders

Some kind of nomad warrior

I had idea for this character in my head for a while and finally decided to do something with it. As you can see head is based on concept done by Laurel D. Austin for game "Brink". I'm a little late for this party, I know. ;) Rest of the model is based on various photos and concept art.
This is highpoly model. I know I could add a lot more detail here and there, but now I'm going to move on to retopo and textures to make it a realtime model.
Software used for now: Maya, Zbrush, Marvelous Designer, Keyshot.

Longboard Girl

This image is inspired by Juan Rayos’s videos with Longboard Girls Crew.
I was watching them over and over, because they got everything - beautiful shots of my beloved Spain, great soundtrack, and last but not least cool girls having fun riding on longboards!
You can find those videos here:

My workflow was really straight forward. Modeling in Maya, some corrective sculpting in Mudbox, textures in Photoshop and Mudbox, rendering in Arnold, some simple compositing in Fusion and little final touches in Photoshop once again.

I was really lucky, that Arnold came up before I was finishing this image. I decided to give it a try, and I’m still impressed how amazing this rendering engine is. It is easy to setup and produces great results with minimum effort and without any technical knowledge. ;)

I’ve used textures from:
cgtextures.com, hdrlabs.com, spectrumtextures.com, koi-blog.com

I hope you like it. :)

Fun fact: while working on this image, I bought a longboard and started riding! ;)
